MILC Adapted Kayaking

Sponsored by KI Mobility, and kayaks provided by Northward Peddle and Paddle

MILC’s 16th annual Adapted Kayaking Event, sponsored by Ki Mobility and in partnership with Northward Peddle and Paddle, is a FREE event. 

This event will take place at Nepco Lake County Park in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on July 29, 2023, from 10 am to 3:30 pm to promote accessible kayaking for people with disabilities. 

Participants can visit the exhibitor area where multiple vendors will be displaying information. This year MILC’s event is sponsored by Ki Mobility, and is partnered with Northward Peddle and Paddle who will be supplying the kayaks and life jackets for the event.

This is a FREE event that is open to any person with a disability of any age or ability and their family or caregivers.  Food and beverages will be available at the event.  Registration prior to the event is preferred and highly encouraged. The first 100 participants registered will receive a free event t-shirt! Be a volunteer

Attend the event and participate in making it both fun and safe. We are looking for volunteers for this event until all positions are filled. To learn more about becoming a volunteer for this, or future events, reach out to Eric Riskus at eriskus@milc-inc.org, or call 715-344-4210.

Volunteer positions include:

Preparing and/or serving food

Water safety/lifeguard

Assisting people getting into kayaks

Assisting in tandem kayaks on the water

Have a booth at the event: Become an exhibitor

The Adapted Kayak Event is Midstate Independent Living Choices’ longest running event to provide outdoor recreational activities for individuals with and without disabilities.
As an exhibitor, you will have the opportunity to promote your organization, gain visibility, build relationships, and make a difference in your community. You will have access to an audience of over 300 participants, volunteers, and supporters who are interested in learning more about your organization.
Space in the exhibitor area will be free for nonprofits and $50 for businesses and comes with a 6-foot table and the opportunity to showcase your organization’s branding and marketing materials. Please note that table availability is limited, so early application is recommended.
