Biography

Prior to coming to Midstate Independent Living Choices (MILC), I worked as a direct service provider trained to support a wide variety of individuals in community-based setting and private homes. I have almost 10 years of experience working with youth and adults with mental and behavioral health needs as well as adults with complex medical needs.

I have a special interest in youth transition planning and supporting individuals with mental and behavioral health and or alcohol and substance abuse issues. I am passionate about human and social service provision, diversity and inclusion efforts, and community-based programming.

In addition to providing services as an IRIS Consultant, as the Quality Assurance Lead Trainer, I assist the IRIS Program Director and Executive Director with improving and maintaining program and agency quality. My duties include monitoring and following our quality management plan, reviewing processes and file keeping for compliance, monitoring and tracking performance benchmarks, participate and report on agency improvement planning efforts, and developing and providing training to IRIS Consultants.  I also complete Long-Term Care Functional Screens for program participants and serve as the ICA’s restrictive measures lead.

In my spare time I enjoy writing, astrology, listening to music, going to concerts, cooking, baking and binging TV show on Netflix and Hulu. I love dogs and meeting new animals.

Specialties: I have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, severe and persistent mental illness, and frail elders.

I also have experience in non-violent crisis prevention and intervention including restrictive measures, needs assessment and service plan development, suicide risk assessment and prevention, behavior support planning, trauma informed care, evidence-based approaches, and care coordination.
